How It Works

Anatomy of the Maritime Constellation.

A three-layer system designed to provide persistent power and data from anywhere in the
ocean.

From Seabed to Satellite.

The Surface Layer:

The xNode Network.

The foundation of the constellation is a network of autonomous, wave-powered xNodes. These platforms harvest energy from the ocean to power themselves and their payloads. They form a resilient, self-healing mesh network at the surface, sharing data and power to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.

The Subsea Layer:

Connecting the Deep

The constellation extends from the surface to the seabed. Using acoustic or optical modems, the xNodes communicate with and provide power to a wide range of subsea assets. This enables real-time command and control of underwater vehicles and sensors without the need for a physical tether.

The Exfiltration Layer:

Data to the Cloud

Mission-critical data is securely transmitted from the constellation to the cloud in real-time. The xNode Edge module supports multiple high-bandwidth satellite and cellular communication pathways, ensuring that you have access to your data when you need it, wherever you are.

The Technology That Makes It Possible.

Efficient and Robust Power Generation.

At the heart of the xNode is a proprietary, high-efficiency wave energy converter. Its point-absorber design is optimized for a wide range of sea states, from calm seas to stormy conditions.

A direct-drive PTO with
minimal moving parts ensures high reliability and low maintenance over years of deployment.

Autonomous and Intelligent Power Management.

The xNode’s onboard controller acts as the brain of the system. It uses advanced algorithms to manage power generation, storage, and distribution, ensuring that mission-critical payloads are always prioritized.

The system can be monitored and controlled remotely, but is designed to
operate fully autonomously for months or years at a time.

Survivability by Design.

The ocean is an unforgiving environment. The xNode is engineered to not just survive, but thrive. Its most unique feature is its ability to autonomously submerge.

When its onboard sensors detect extreme wave conditions, the xNode can retract its mast and flood its ballast tanks to safely submerge below the turbulent surface, protecting itself and its valuable payloads.
